Katherine Hubble
Plastic Lustre Brooch, 2021
Polypropylene, thermoforming plastic, iridescent tint, silver, steel pin
7.5 x 7 x 3cm
Katherine Hubble is an art jeweller located in Naarm, Melbourne. Plastic Lustre Brooch, 2021 explores the shell as inspiration within craft. There is a long human history of the shell used within ornamentation and adornment of the human body. I wanted to reimagine shell jewellery and what that would look like today within the 21st Century with contemporary plastics and industrial processes.
